07.06.2009 - Michal Urbaniak and Tom Browne preforming together in Warsaw.

Michal Urbaniak is holding his hand on the pulse of the world music scene and to his Urbanator project he always invites the biggest names in Jazz music. And so it will be this time. The artists invited by Urbaniak to his June concert tour is a bow towards those refined listeners as well as those who are just beginning to expand their love for good music.

After few months of negotiations regarding this concert with Michal Urbaniak and Tom Brown whose musical introduction to each other began in 1994 when Michal invited Tom to his album "Urbanator" it is finally official. One can safely say that those who love music and good sounds are holding their breath to hear the biggest trumpet player in Jazz/Funk music.

This isn't the first time that the violin has been combined with the trumpet in Jazz music. In the 30's, for instance, this occured in Stuff Smith's projects. All the time collaborating with musicians of Jamaica Queens in NY. It was no surprise that the those same musicians became part of Urbanator band.

As for Tom Browne, he is one of the very few intsrumentalists who in the 1980's had his number one hit in the States, "Funkin' for Jamaica". "Just like many musicians who worked with Tom, we understand each other rythmically and melodicaly. The sound of his trumpet reminds me of my all time favorite trumpet players Lee Morgan" says Michal Urbaniak.
